DENTISTRY
Maintaining good dental health is such an important part of keeping your performance horse in optimum condition or your old friend healthy and comfortable.
Our equine dental vets will:
- Perform a professional oral examination under sedation
- Perform a Powerfloat to remove sharp enamel points and restore correct alignment of the arcades
- Take digital radiographs to identify diseased teeth
- Extract loose and diseased teeth.
-
WORMING
We recommend that horses have their faeces tested once every 2 months with a faecal egg count (FEC) and only wormed if counts are above 200 eggs per gram.
Where FECs have not been performed, horses should be wormed once every 2 months rotating drenches from a different chemical group on each occasion.
