Wendy Morton
KENNEL HAND | COMMENCED SEPTEMBER 2022
Where did you grow up and how did your childhood shape you to work at Yass Valley Veterinary?
I grew up on a small property in Murrumbateman surrounded by horses, dogs, a cat, chickens and a multitude of visiting wildlife. My Nan and Pop also had a sheep and cattle farm where we spent much time caring for large and small animals. Animals have always been a part of my daily life and I can’t imagine a day without the joy they bring.
What qualifications do you have?
I recently completed a Certificate III in Companion Animal Services and am currently working towards a Certificate IV in Vet Nursing. I also have two Certificate II in Hospitality. Working with, and for others, has always been important.
Why do you like working at Yass Valley Veterinary?
I love to see the many visiting animals that come through the doors of Yass Vet. The wide variety of animals that a rural area offers is exciting and makes every day special.
What you like doing in your spare time?
I love to spend my spare time reading, or baking up a wild storm in the kitchen cooking meals, snacks and other yummy delights. I have also competed in Dragon Boating for many years and enjoy the early mornings on the water.
What pets do you have?
We currently own a gorgeous moodle, an enormous cat, four energetic senior horses and one playful pony, all with big personalities.
